An idea. Started as "I WANNA DRAW A BUG MAN LOL" and turned into a mantis who wonders if there is more to life than praying.
Shut up I know it doesn't look like a mantis at all.

Poor thing. A praying mantis with no desire to pray. :(

Um...maybe he can be a meditating mantis? :O

I guess he turned out to be more of a nihilist! ^^;
Thanks for the comment.

Hehehe...you're welcome.

It's a very nice drawing. :handshake:

Looks like he's saying grace: "Lord, (who does not exist, of course), thank you for this human I am about to devour. Amen."

Great pic btw

Thx! That's definitely what I look like when saying grace. Especially at Thanksgiving dinners where my mom takes forever to thank Jebus for every little thing. :D

Who cares if it doesn't look like a mantis! The atheist idea along with the mantis theme fits! It's like... what do you call it? An ironi! I like the idea!!

The pose is very well, too. Even though it's expressionless, you can figure the picture's feeling.

Thanks! I'm sure it's been thought of before but I do like the idea. Maybe I'll make a short story to go with it. Haha.

HE DON BELIEVE IN GAWD.

Nice picture, nice posing especially. He's in such a pose that one almost 'would' mistake him for a human...yet he has very bug-like characteristics. I think what strikes me about this piece is how relational yet how polar opposite he is to humans. The coloring is also very effective...it's almost as if he's glowing... And I like the etchy-ness. :)

I think the goal of all ideas relating to anthropomorphic characters is to be able to relate the animals to humans in a way that superstitions or stereotypes of the species themselves would fit. So I'm glad I also conveyed that!
I think the etchy-ness should be my new inking style. It came to me by accident but I ended up using it!
